The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) has purchased the former AMC movie theater property in Hamilton Township, NJ, with plans to develop a new medical facility.
According to Mercer County records, CHOP acquired the 42-acre site at 325 Sloane Avenue for $17.5 million, finalizing the transaction last week. The theater, which has remained vacant since closing in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic, was sold by EPR Properties, represented by Newmark.
While specific details about the future medical center have not yet been released, CHOP CEO Madeline Bell shared the organization’s vision: “We look forward to enhancing access to high-quality care, expanding services, and providing greater convenience to families in Central New Jersey and the surrounding region.”
