Cooper Hospital Breaks Ground on $3B Expansion

Cooper Hospital Breaks Ground on $3B Expansion

On Tuesday, Cooper University Health held a ceremonial groundbreaking for the first phase of its $3 billion Camden expansion. The 10-story, 35,000-square-foot tower will feature 125 private inpatient rooms.

Located at the corner of Haddon Ave. and Martin Luther King Blvd, the tower will offer a prominent view for visitors entering from Rt. 676, becoming the first major building seen from the highway. Situated next to the existing Roberts tower, the new structure is designed to seamlessly integrate with it, particularly in terms of its exterior façade.

A pedestrian tunnel will also be built to cross over Haddon Avenue, connecting the tower to the MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.
